Caramel Popcorn

Ladies,

Here is the recipe for the FABULOUS caramel popcorn that Amy F. brought to the last PJ Crop. Thanks for sharing, Amy!!!!

Pop corn puffs.
One big bowl
put in 1 bag of puffs.
1/2 cup of your favorite nut

1/2 cup White corn syrup
1 stick real Butter...It has to be real stuff
1 cup brown sugar
Bring to boil ...Then boil 2 minutes
Add
tsp Vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder soda ...
Stir in baking powered .Mixer will be foamy...
Pour over puffs
stir
Put in a pan.Sprayed Pam.
One big roasting pan.I us a big the biggest pan i have.
Bake at 250. For 45 minutes
Stir ever 15 minutes.
Put on wax paper to cool enjoy.
When I make these I double it.But you do have to us 2 big pans

Had an AWESOME time at the twelve hour crop yesterday. Wish you could have been here! I even managed to complete two cards and start a scrapbook layout!

It isn't too late to sign up for the Calligraphy classes. They start Tues. - 2/28. We have 4 openings left, with 5 already signed up! Woo HOO! Call the store or drop by to sign up! You'll need to tell us if you prefer the 10 a.m. class or the 6 p.m. class! $30 includes three 1 hour lessons, a set of 4 Calligraphy pens, and practice paper!

The Calligraphy classes are all set up! We only have 3 openings left. Call or drop by the store as soon as possible to reserve your spot. The classes will run on 3 successive Tuesdays, starting on Tues. - 2/28. You can come at either 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. Class will be one hour per week. You will leave here with 4 Calligraphy pens and practice paper. You will need to specify the time slot you would like, and also to let us know if you are coming as soon as possible.

Calligraphy Classes Set Up!

Ladies;

The Calligraphy classes are now set up! The total cost will be $30 for all 3 one hour classes. Calligraphy practice paper, and a set of 4 calligraphy pens (all with different size tips) will be included in the class for you to take home. The classes will be on Tues. - Feb. 28 - 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. and again at 6 - 7 p.m. We will do the same two classes on Tues. Mar. 6, and Tues. Mar. 13 (See updated class schedule). You will need to sign up and pay in advance. Class is filling up quickly. We have 6 signed up, and have enough pen sets for 8. If we need to order more pens, we will need as much advance notice as possible - so please sign up right away.

Ladies,

4 different types of CUTE Valentine stamps are now in. Two are filligree hearts (both different styles - one also says Happy Valentine's Day), and two adorable vintage stamps. One looks like a vintage valentine, and the other does as well, except it is more of a Victorian look. CUTE!

Also now in, 3 more styles of the BEAUTIFUL Bo Bunny "Enchanted" line. These papers were on back order and are now in to join the other gorgeous papers! If you haven't had a chance to check them out, they are adorable vintage black and white papers with black glitter.

New white gel pens! Trying a new style. Now in.

Also, last but not least, we now have the art porfolios in that some of you have been looking for. They are acid free, have a carry handle, and are 23" X 31" x 2". If you have a budding artist with some large drawings to store or transport safely, these are for you!

Bring your supplies and tools and have fun crafting with us for the night. (Formal attire not required. Free bad jokes.) Please call ahead to reserve your spot as space is limited.

Sat. - Feb. 18 - "Alter This" class - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - $30

Bring your scissors, a sponge brush, your Ranger Craft Mat (if you have one), your paper cutter (if you have one), and yourself! If you have an item you'd like to alter, bring it in. If not, I have several here we can play with! Fun! You'll start looking at secondhand items in a whole new light!

Tues. - Feb. 21 - Acetate/Glitter Class - 6 - 8 p.m. - $20

Bring your scissors and yourself! If you have any colored glitters, bring them along as well. We will be learning how to re-purpose your stamps using the 3D laquer glues and glitter. (Note: You WILL be sparkling when you leave class!) :-)

Recipe for AWESOME White Chocolate Chex Mix!

Ladies,

O.k., here's one of the items you guys all miss out on when you don't come to the PJ Crops. lol. Tina Bird made some FANTASTIC white chocolate Chex mix, and graciously shared the recipe with us. Here it is:

5 Cups Honey Nut Cheerios 5 Cups Honey Nut Chex Cereal
1 Jar Peanuts 1 Bag Small Pretzel sticks or twists
1 Large bag M & M's 2 Bags white chocolate chips
3 Tablespoons oil

Melt white chocolate chips and oil in microwave. Mix with dry ingredients.
VOILA! Done and delish!

I gotta tell ya!...I'm loving the acrylic overlays we have in the store! I used one sheet to do both of these baby pages. (This is the floral looking blue acetate sections on the pages.) We also have them in black, white, gold, copper, white, pink, silver, and purple. Also, check out the blue and white bakers twine (thin, braided looking ribbon). We also carry it in other colors as well. Striking, yes?

Fun with Glass Etching

Thurs. – Dec. 8 – Spellbinder Christmas Card Class – 6 – 8 p.m. – $25

Bring your scissors, pop dots, and favorite adhesive and come join us as we create 4 gorgeous cards using the awesome Spellbinder dies.

Tues. – Dec. 13 – Fun with Punches – 6 – 8 p.m. – $10

Bring just yourself (and maybe 10 – 20 friends!) for a neat class that will teach you how to get more mileage out of your punches. We will be learning several neat tricks for making your own, inexpensive embellishments out of scrap paper! If you get stuck wondering how to jazz up those boring pages, this is the class for you!

Sat. – Dec. 17 – Learn to Scrapbook - 10 a.m. to noon -$10

Jeff is doing FANTASTIC!!! He had to go to his chiropractor the second day he got out of the hospital but he is fine now and doing GREAT! NO pain or problems!

Want to thank you sooooo much for all the prayers and love you gave! IT helped him through all of this, and now it is on to RECOVERY and getting his life back!

Loving Kitty Needs Home

Ladies,

I was "gifted" a kitten that needs a good home. She is very loving and gentle. I really would like to keep her, but one of our dogs would eat her, and she would eat our birds and fish! WAH! She would need to be an inside kitty as she is afraid of cars. Please let me know if you'd like to add a lil' bit o' love to your family! She is black with a tiny bit of white on her chest. Anyway, I wanted to give you all a "visual" of what we've been doing and what we will be doing for our "It's a Homemade Christmas" classes, upcoming card classes, etc. It is never too early to start preparing for Christmas, whether it be cards, gifts, etc.

Look at the nifty Halloween cards we will be making! We will be learning how to use distress inks, distressing tools, the Grand Calibur machine and several Spellbinders dies, AND playing with the new (and might I say AWESOME!!!) seam binding!!! Thanks to Kate for bringing some in and showing me why it is a "must have" item for the store! Way to go, Kate!!!

Also, here are pictures of the Christmas ornament (It's a Homemade Christmas Class), front and back sides are different (pictured here). Come learn how to make them and then go home and have fun! This ornament has "snow" in the globes on both sides of the card. You can shake them and make it snow! Cute!!!!

The angel globe card will be a part of the "Christmas Globe" card class - date and price TBA. Aren't these gorgeous??? Once you take the class to learn how to make these, you can purchase supplies to create more on your own. Again, there is snow in the globe to shake. Ka-UTE!!!

It’s a Homemade Christmas!!!!

Follow the blog, our website, or the class schedules to see when we will be having these classes. We will be having at least one or two (hopefully more) classes per month where we will be making items that will be suitable for gift-giving this Christmas! Start now to get a lot of your gifts ready. There is nothing more special than giving a gift that you have made yourself!

Fri. – Sep. 2 – PJ Crop – 5 p.m. – Midnight - $3

Weds. – Sep. 7 – It’s a Homemade Christmas - Necklace Class – 6 – 8 p.m. - $20

Must be pre-paid. This is part of our “It’s a Homemade Christmas” series of classes. This gorgeous necklace (on display now in the store) would make a perfect gift for any special lady on your Christmas list. Learn how, pick up your supplies after class, and then go home and make more for those other special women on your list!

Fri. - Aug. 5 - PJ Crop - 5 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. - $3

Bring a snack to share and all of your stuff to work on pages, cards, knitting, quilling....we don't care what you work on, just bring chocolate and come! :-)

Tues. - Aug. 9 - Beginning Scrapbook Lesson - 10 a.m. to Noon, and again at 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. - $15

Bring your scissors and adhesive (if you have it...if not, you can purchase it here) and 4 - 6 pictures of the same event/category. We will be completing a two page, 12 X 12 layout using some floral/bird papers. You will learn how to choose colors, do your layout, and jazz up your pages...all while using some of the store's awesome punches/tools/Grand Calibur, etc. This is a great class to learn what items you may be interested in buying for yourself by using them first! Please drop by the store and sign up by paying in advance.

Fri. - Aug. 19 - PJ Crop - 5 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. - $3 plus a snack

Weds. - Aug. 24 - Deadline to sign up for the adorable "Vacation by the Sea" album. (We need to have time to order in all the product we will be using for the class, depending on how many sign up). This cute lil' album is on display at the store right now. Kate has outdone herself! It is a chipboard/paper bag album all in one. It is totally tricked out with pockets, nooks and crannies, tags, decoration, etc. Drop by or call the store to sign up. Pre-payment is required. You will need to bring your workshop kits.

May Arts Ribbon In!!!

The May Arts ribbons from CHA are in the store, priced, and ready to go. We have some adorable new ribbons to play with! Among others, we now have teal sheer; brown, hot pink, and black 1.5" "wrinkled" sheer; black sheer with orange and black checked borders (think Halloween!); 1.5 " sheer yellow with bees; red and green twisted baker's twine; white sheer ribbon with white flowers with pearl centers, and leaves and stems (CUTE!); 1.5" sheer large polka dotted ribbons, these are white sheer with polka dots, pink, purple, blue, and yellow; a GORGEOUS thin, white, lace scalloped ribbon; 1/2" pleated and stitched ribbons in: silver; brown, cream, and cranberry; 1.5" red ribbon with green edging (think Christmas); 1.5" hot pink sheer ribbon with crinkled edges; mauve sheer ribbon with crinkled edges; and white and cream "Pull string" ribbons. These 1.5" sheer ribbons have ribbons inside them. You can pull the inside ribbons to create a ruffled ribbon, rosette, etc. Hurry in and check them out!!!

Ladies,

Some of the new items we found at CHA are starting to roll through the door. In now, double dot swiss and flourish cardstocks from Bo Bunny. These are really neat, classy cardstocks that come in creams, browns, tans, reds, and navy. They have neat muted corresponding Swiss Dots or Flourishes on one side, and the other side is a distressed cardstock in a cooresponding color. These are located with the other cardstocks in the store.

Also now it, ADORABLE vintage baby papers and embellishments from Fab Scraps. CUTE! I am expecting more product in the door tomorrow as well. Come in and check things out before everything is all snapped up!

Ladies,

Tammy and I are back from CHA, and am I ever stoked! LOTS of gorgeous new products, ideas, tools, etc. Woo HOO! Immediately on order are some awesomely awesome 3 ring binder scrapbooks by Making Memories, as well as a gorgeous winter paper and embellishment collection, the new 8 in 1 punches, etc.. I will blog about these punches more when them come in, but I'm thinking that if you don't have them, you are going to want them! They cut a 12 X 12 (or other sizes of papers) into different shapes with punched out borders along the shapes in 8 easy punches! KEWL BEANS!!!!

Also, lots of GORGEOUS new ribbons on the way from May Arts. Some are vintage, some wedding, some shabby sheek, some whimsical, but ALL are adorable...can't wait!

Also, I am pre-ordering the new Graphic 45 "ABC Primer" and "Christmas Emporium" lines that are just now being released. We will have them as soon as they are available. Can't wait to show you all I learned in upcoming fall classes, etc. Bo Bunny's "Father Christmas" will be here as soon as it is released.

Also, we learned some AWESOME techniques for using the Spellbinder dies and embossing tools. FUN!
